All of the festival selections will screen at Chicago’s premiere movie going experience; the Muvico Theaters Rosemont 18 located in Rosemont, IL.

CHICAGO FEAR FEST will showcase the very best in cutting edge independent horror films. The lineup will include short films, feature films, celebrity guests, panel discussions, and Q & A’s. An update: I lucked out attending the 2012 fear festival. I just happened to be in Chicago seeing a client for whom we provide technical assistance. The festival is why I have this client. One of my well known lawyer buds, Benjamin Pred (you may know him as the former Queens Assistant District Attorney), is a fear fest fanatic, even though he has never attended (that's another long story). Anyway, Ben introduced me to my client who is also a fear fan. It's great to have clients, but the work is intense. After a full week working with the client's IT team, I was ready to take a break. One of the guys invited me to attend the festival after learning I was a horror film and Walking Dead aficionado. The overall festival experience was beyond what I could have asked for. Absolutely super fun. The films were of high quality and the entire fest ran very smoothly. Making it to the HATCHET 2 and HOLLISTON screenings was terrific. Adam Green and Joe Lynch made numerous appearances, mingling with fans like me during the after parties. They came with lots of advice and many laughs to help make this weekend even more memorable. The Muvico Theaters Rosemont 18 itself was perfect. It was very clean and hands down the biggest and nicest theater I have ever been in. The screens were picture perfect to match the crisp sound and the chairs were the most comfortable I have ever sat in to watch a film. The festival was the perfect way to end a successful work week. When I returned to RTSLabs, where I work, my fellow workers were all jealous.,br /> So, right on to the Chicago Fear Fest. You rock.

Review of NAILBITER from Patrick Rea

by Mitchell_Wells on Apr.12, 2012

Capone AICN

Glowing review of the feature we will be showing on Friday…. NAILBITER from Patrick Rea….

Check it out…

“I don’t want to say too much more about the NAILBITER plot; I think seeing it more or less cold is the best way to go and will result in bigger surprises and purer anxiety-filled moments. But I was really impressed with the flow of the story, the reasons behind the ladies being held captive, and the way everything plays out. And while the movie certainly leaves itself open for a sequel (hell, it practically feels like Part 1 of a two-part story), it was refreshing to watch a non-sequel, mostly original horror film that wasn’t afraid to get a little kooky sometimes….”
